Celestial Bodies
It began with a search into the source. Not the source of the misery but what lay underneath: what does woman look like? What did woman look like? What does woman look like beyond the gaze that shaped her? What did woman look like before the gaze shaped her? The search for the source was the search for the earliest representation of woman.
It meandered through the beginning of Time, through the stars of the Pleiades, and the sign of Taurus—for whom Venus stands reign as governor with her tears of galena and bismuthine, crown of sulphuric acid clouds. Unearthed by archaeologists, there exist little carvings in the same name as the planet of style and sensuality—for their associations with the Goddess of prosperity and fertility. They are curvy and unmistakably female. It is believed they were gifted between women of the community in honour of pregnancies real and yet to come. The figures come from every corner, each carved in the image of their creator and from her perspective.
So gaze upon the shapes of the women who were our every mother. The entirety of humanity has descended from their wisdom and bodies. Find yourself, or aspects of yourself, and pay respects to your ancestors. Consider the ways you can extend your love to somewhere new. If you can’t think of anything, try reconnecting with a previous version of yourself.
